TDI Trimix 60M
The TDI Trimix Diver course is tailored for advanced divers looking to explore the depths beyond recreational limits using trimix gas mixtures. This course introduces the use of helium in breathing gases to reduce the effects of nitrogen narcosis and oxygen toxicity, enabling safer and more controlled deep diving experiences. The TDI Trimix Diver course equips divers with the skills and knowledge required for diving to depths of up to 60 meters (200 feet), focusing on advanced dive planning, gas management, and the specialized skills needed for deep technical diving.
Course Structure:
- Theory Sessions: The course begins with classroom sessions covering the fundamentals of using trimix gases, including the role of helium, the management of gas mixtures, understanding partial pressures, and calculating equivalent air depths. Additional topics include advanced decompression strategies, deep diving physiology, and specific planning considerations for trimix dives.
- Gear Configuration: Engage in hands-on sessions to configure and optimize your technical diving equipment for trimix dives. This includes setting up multiple tanks, regulators, stage cylinders, and configuring gas switching devices and other specialized gear.
- Practical Training: Over four days, participate in practical training that includes 4 boat dives. These dives provide real-world experience in planning and executing deep dives using trimix, focusing on skills such as gas switching, managing ascent and descent rates, and conducting decompression stops at depths of up to 60 meters.
Course Highlights:
- Use of Trimix Gases: Learn to plan and execute dives using trimix mixtures, including helium, oxygen, and nitrogen, to safely explore depths up to 60 meters. Understand the benefits of using helium to reduce narcosis and oxygen toxicity at greater depths.
- Advanced Decompression Techniques: Develop proficiency in decompression planning and execution, utilizing multiple gas mixes to enhance decompression safety and efficiency.
- Equipment Mastery: Gain hands-on experience with the setup and use of technical diving equipment, including the management of multiple tanks and gas switches.
- Deep Diving Skills: Master the essential skills for deep diving, such as precise buoyancy control, navigation, and emergency response techniques.
- Risk Management: Learn to assess and manage the unique risks associated with deep technical diving, including contingency planning and problem-solving at significant depths.
