Solo Diver

The Solo Diver course is designed for experienced divers who seek the skills and knowledge to dive independently. This course provides specialized training for planning and executing solo dives, emphasizing self-sufficiency, risk assessment, and problem-solving. Whether you're a photographer who wants to focus on capturing the perfect shot, a dive professional seeking to enhance your skills, or simply someone interested in exploring the underwater world on your own terms, this course equips you with the tools needed for safe and confident solo diving.

Course Structure:

• Self-Paced Online Theory Study: Begin with an online learning module covering the principles of solo diving, including equipment configuration, risk management, and dive planning. This flexible format allows you to study at your own pace.
• In-Water Training: Participate in practical training sessions that focus on the skills necessary for solo diving, such as advanced navigation, buoyancy control, emergency procedures, and self-rescue techniques.

Course Highlights:

• Introduction to Solo Diving: Understand the motivations for solo diving, the benefits, and the unique challenges it presents compared to buddy diving.
• Equipment Configuration: Learn about specialized equipment setups, including redundant air supplies, dive computers, surface marker buoys (SMBs), and other gear essential for solo diving.
• Risk Assessment and Management: Develop the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with solo diving, including planning for contingencies and emergencies.
• Advanced Navigation Skills: Enhance your underwater navigation abilities, crucial for maintaining orientation and locating exit points during solo dives.
• Self-Rescue Techniques: Practice skills for managing potential problems independently, such as handling equipment failures, out-of-air situations, and other emergencies.

Course Requirements:

• Minimum Age: Minimum 21 years old.
• Certification Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, with a minimum of 100 logged dives.
• Health Requirements: Ability to meet the medical requirements for scuba diving.
• Equipment: Snorkeling set (Mask, snorkel, boots and fins), dive torch, redundant air source, cutting devices, slate or wetnote. 

Course Duration:

• Total Duration: Approximately 15 hours, including online theory and in-water training sessions.
