Wreck Diver - Penetration
The Wreck Diver course with penetration training is designed for divers who want to explore underwater wrecks in greater depth and detail. This course provides specialized skills and knowledge for safely penetrating wrecks, allowing you to navigate through interior passages and compartments while minimizing risks. Whether you're fascinated by the history of shipwrecks, aircraft, or other submerged structures, this course equips you with the techniques and safety protocols necessary for wreck penetration diving.
Course Structure:
- Self-Paced Online Theory Study:Start with an online learning module that covers the fundamentals of wreck diving, including wreck types, hazards, equipment considerations, and planning. This flexible format allows you to learn at your own pace.
- In-Water Training: Engage in practical training over multiple dives, focusing on skills such as mapping, reel use, line handling, and emergency procedures. This hands-on training is conducted at actual wreck sites to provide real-world experience.
Course Highlights:
- Introduction to Wreck Diving: Understand the appeal and challenges of wreck diving, including the unique historical and ecological aspects of underwater wrecks.
- Wreck Penetration Techniques: Learn the methods for safe wreck penetration, including the use of guide lines, navigation, and communication strategies within confined spaces.
- Equipment Configuration: Gain knowledge about specialized equipment used in wreck diving, such as reels, lights, cutting tools, and redundant air sources.
- Hazard Identification and Management: Develop the ability to identify potential hazards, such as sharp edges, entanglement risks, and structural instability, and learn how to manage them.
- Emergency Procedures: Practice essential safety skills, including lost line drills, air management, and handling low-visibility situations.
Course Requirements:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old, or 15 with parental consent
- Certification Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, and recommended prior experience with deep or night diving.
- Health Requirements: Ability to meet the medical requirements for scuba diving.
- Equipment Requirements: Mask, Snorkel, Boots and Fins, Reels, Prime Dive Torch (Canister style preferred), backup dive torches, cutting device, slate or Wetnote.

- Total Duration: Approximately 16-20 hours, including online theory and in-water training sessions over multiple dives.
