MELBOURNE TECHNICAL DIVING
Melbourne technical diving conditions provide an ideal environment for developing decompression discipline, situational awareness, communication and technical team procedures under realistic task loading.
Cold water, changing visibility, surge and environmental variability encourage divers to build stronger buoyancy control, improved awareness and more consistent procedural execution throughout staged decompression dives.
Rather than relying on controlled conditions alone, the course is designed to help divers apply decompression procedures, gas switching and ascent management within realistic local diving environments.
Build decompression discipline and procedural control in realistic Melbourne diving conditions.
Develop awareness while managing runtime, buoyancy, communication and decompression procedures simultaneously.
Improve technical communication, team positioning and coordinated ascent management throughout staged dives.
Train using equipment and exposure protection suitable for real Melbourne technical diving environments.
Build procedural consistency in changing visibility, surge and dynamic local diving conditions.
FIVE DAYS OF PROGRESSIVE TECHNICAL TRAINING
The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course is delivered as a structured five-day technical diving program designed to progressively develop decompression awareness, gas switching discipline, ascent management, technical communication and staged decompression execution.
Begin with decompression theory, equipment configuration, buoyancy refinement and foundational technical diving procedures.

The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course forms the core foundation for future technical diving progression including Trimix, cave diving, CCR and advanced expedition-style diving environments.
Develop buoyancy, trim, propulsion, equipment awareness and technical team discipline.
Learn staged decompression diving, gas switching, ascent management and runtime awareness.
Progress into deeper technical diving environments requiring advanced gas planning and decompression execution.
Continue toward advanced overhead and closed circuit technical diving progression and expedition-level training.
WHY OUR ANDP TRAINING IS DIFFERENT
Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures is where technical diving becomes planned execution. Gas choices, decompression schedules, team awareness, failure procedures and ascent discipline all need time, repetition and feedback.
Our ANDP program is intentionally structured across five training days and a minimum of nine dives to give divers time to build reliable technical habits rather than simply complete the minimum requirements.
Progressive development instead of compressed, rushed deco training.
More in-water repetition for gas switches, failures, ascents and team procedures.
Build decompression discipline in cold water, changing visibility and realistic task loading.
Designed as a serious foundation for Trimix, CCR, cave and expedition-style technical diving.
TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT & CONFIGURATION
Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures training requires more than simply adding extra cylinders. Equipment configuration, redundancy, streamlining and procedural consistency become increasingly important as decompression obligations and task loading increase.
Prior to the commencement of the course, divers are encouraged to discuss equipment suitability and configuration with the team to ensure systems are appropriate for decompression and technical diving progression.
Technical diving equipment is highly individual and configuration-dependent. Many divers progressively refine their setup throughout training as experience, comfort and diving goals evolve.
Equipment guidance, technical equipment support and hire options are available for divers requiring assistance preparing for Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures training.
Configure and manage stage and decompression cylinders while developing gas switching awareness.
Build familiarity with technical regulator configurations, backup systems and equipment checks.
Improve runtime awareness, decompression tracking and dive planning discipline.
Refine equipment positioning, hose routing and team procedures to reduce task loading.

ANDP FAQ
ANDP combines TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures into one technical diving program. It teaches divers how to plan and conduct staged decompression dives using enriched air nitrox and oxygen mixtures.
The course trains divers to plan and execute standard staged decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 metres, within training agency standards and appropriate conditions.
Divers must be certified advanced scuba divers from a recognised training agency, be at least 18 years old and have proof of at least 25 logged open water dives.
No. Gas fills, boat fees, accommodation and transport are excluded from the course price. Technical equipment hire is available at additional cost.
Students need suitable technical diving equipment including appropriate primary cylinders, regulators, SMB and spool, dive computer or timing device, wet notes and a stage or deco cylinder with regulator.
Technical equipment hire is available at extra cost, and students are encouraged to contact the team before the course to confirm equipment suitability.
Decompression diving requires repetition. Gas switching, failure management, team ascents, runtime awareness and staged decompression procedures need time to become reliable underwater habits.
The five-day structure gives divers more time to develop consistency, control and confidence rather than simply rushing through minimum exposure.Melbourne diving conditions can involve colder water, changing visibility and increased task loading, making repetition and procedural consistency especially valuable during decompression training.
The course covers the use of EAN21 through to 100 percent oxygen, including benefits, risks and procedures for using enriched air nitrox and oxygen for decompression diving.
Yes. ANDP is a core foundation for future technical diving progression, including Trimix, CCR, cave diving and deeper expedition-style technical training pathways.
Training is conducted through Extreme Watersport on the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne dive sites suitable for decompression and technical diving development.
Melbourne technical diving conditions provide realistic environments for developing decompression awareness, buoyancy control, gas switching discipline and technical team communication in cold water conditions.
Changing visibility, surge and increased task loading encourage divers to build stronger procedural consistency and more reliable decompression diving habits throughout staged technical dives.
MELBOURNE TECHNICAL DIVING TRAINING
Whether your goal is decompression diving, Trimix, cave, CCR or long-term technical progression, the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course is designed to build stronger decompression discipline, gas awareness and technical team procedures through structured training in realistic Melbourne diving conditions.
