1. Introduction

These terms and conditions outline the rules, requirements and policies for booking scuba diving courses, tours, dive trips and experiences with Extreme Watersport.

By booking any service with Extreme Watersport, participants agree to comply with the terms and conditions listed on this page.

2. Booking & Payment

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.

A deposit or full payment may be required at the time of booking depending on the specific activity, course, tour or experience.

Payments may be made via credit card, bank transfer or other payment methods accepted by Extreme Watersport.

Prices are subject to change without notice but confirmed bookings will not be affected once payment has been received.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation and rescheduling policies are necessary due to staffing, equipment preparation, scheduling commitments, training allocation and third-party operator bookings.

  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled activity date may receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled activity.
  • Late arrivals, no-shows or failure to attend may be treated as cancellations.

Refund eligibility may vary depending on course type, third-party costs, charter commitments and expenses already incurred.

Refunds are not automatically provided for change of mind, failure to meet prerequisites, incomplete training or inability to complete required course standards.

4. Rescheduling

Requests to reschedule should be made as early as possible.

  • Requests made at least 7 days before the scheduled activity may be rescheduled without additional fees where possible.
  • A $50 reschedule fee may apply for requests made with less than 7 days notice.

Rescheduling availability depends on instructor availability, weather conditions, staffing, equipment allocation and course scheduling.

5. Weather, Conditions & Dive Site Changes

Scuba diving activities are weather and condition dependent.

Extreme Watersport reserves the right to change dive sites, schedules, training locations, charter arrangements or activity timing where required for safety, logistics, environmental conditions or operational reasons.

A change of dive site, dive location or schedule due to conditions does not automatically entitle participants to a refund.

6. Medical Fitness To Dive

Participants must be medically fit to dive.

A medical questionnaire and liability release form may be required before participation in diving activities.

If a participant has a medical condition, injury, medication requirement or health concern that could affect diving safety, they must inform Extreme Watersport before participating.

Medical clearance from a qualified diving doctor may be required before participation.

7. Course Prerequisites & Certification Requirements

Participants must meet the minimum prerequisites, certification requirements, experience standards and age requirements for the specific activity or course booked.

Proof of certification may be required for advanced courses, guided dives, technical diving activities or other experience-based diving activities.

Scuba certification is performance based and not guaranteed. Certification is issued only when all required skills, knowledge development, safety standards and instructor requirements have been successfully completed.

8. Student Equipment Requirements

Certain scuba courses may require participants to provide suitable personal snorkelling equipment including mask, snorkel, fins and boots.

Equipment must be appropriate for scuba diving and suitable for local Melbourne diving conditions.

Extreme Watersport reserves the right to refuse unsafe, unsuitable, damaged or poorly fitting equipment.

9. Equipment Hire & Liability

Scuba diving equipment may be provided by Extreme Watersport unless otherwise stated.

Participants are responsible for the care, correct use and return of rented equipment.

Participants may be held responsible for damage or loss caused by misuse, neglect or failure to follow instructions.

Extreme Watersport is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings during courses, tours, trips or diving activities.

10. Third-Party Operators & Boat Charters

Some scuba diving activities may involve third-party operators including charter vessels, boat operators and external facilities.

Third-party cancellation policies, weather decisions, operational limitations and refund conditions may also apply.

Where a third-party operator has a strict cancellation or no-refund policy, Extreme Watersport may be unable to provide refunds for those portions of the booking.

11. Conduct, Safety & Right To Refuse Participation

Participants are expected to behave responsibly and follow all instructions provided by instructors, divemasters, guides and staff.

Extreme Watersport reserves the right to refuse participation, terminate training or remove participants from activities where a participant:

  • Behaves aggressively or irresponsibly
  • Fails to follow safety instructions
  • Is under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Creates risk for themselves, staff or other participants
  • Is medically unfit or unsafe to dive
