A clear in-house workflow for scuba cylinder inspection, hydrostatic testing, valve servicing, test stamping and return.

External Cylinder Inspection

We check the outside of the scuba cylinder for visible damage, corrosion, dents, markings and general condition before testing.

Internal Visual Inspection

The inside of the cylinder is inspected for internal corrosion, moisture damage, contamination, oxidation or anything that may affect safety.

Hydrostatic Pressure Test

The cylinder is pressure tested through the required hydrostatic testing process to assess its suitability for continued scuba use.

Standard Valve Service

Standard valve servicing is included with our standard cylinder hydro test. Replacement parts, repairs or manifold servicing may incur extra charges.

Test Stamp & Standard Air Fill

If the cylinder passes, it receives an updated test stamp and includes a standard air fill, ready for appropriate scuba use.

Ready for Collection

We’ll let you know when your cylinder is ready, or contact you if rust removal, O2 cleaning or additional servicing is recommended.

How often do scuba cylinders need testing in Australia?

Scuba cylinders in Australia commonly require annual hydrostatic testing and inspection. Always check your cylinder test date before bringing it in for an air fill or nitrox fill.

Can you fill an out-of-test scuba cylinder?

No. Out-of-test scuba cylinders cannot be filled until they have passed the required hydrostatic cylinder testing process.

How long does scuba cylinder testing take in Melbourne?

Turnaround is usually around one week under normal conditions. During peak season, scuba cylinder testing may take 10–15 days, so please plan ahead for dive trips, courses or travel. Express servicing may be available at an additional charge depending on workload and staff availability.

Do you test steel and aluminium scuba cylinders?

Yes. We test common steel and aluminium scuba cylinders used for recreational and technical diving.

Do you test older aluminium scuba cylinders?

For staff safety, we may refuse to test aluminium scuba cylinders over 20 years old, especially if cylinder condition, markings or history raise safety concerns.

Is valve servicing included with cylinder testing?

Standard valve servicing is included with our standard hydrostatic scuba cylinder testing service. Additional repairs, replacement parts or manifold servicing may incur extra charges.

Do scuba cylinders need O2 cleaning for nitrox?

Cylinders used for nitrox, oxygen service or technical diving may require O2 cleaning depending on gas mixes and filling methods.

Do you test and service twinsets and technical diving cylinders?

Yes. We service twinsets, stage cylinders and other technical diving cylinders including manifold servicing and O2 clean packages.
