Cressi Donatello Wrist Computer

For a first personal dive computer, clear information and predictable operation are usually worth more than an extensive settings list. That is where the Cressi Donatello fits. Its large-display format suits a newer diver, or an experienced recreational diver who wants one straightforward instrument for both scuba and freediving, at home or while travelling.

Air, Nitrox, Gauge and Freediving modes give Donatello useful range without pretending to be a technical computer. Air mode handles standard recreational profiles, Nitrox supports enriched-air diving, Gauge mode provides depth and time information for use with an appropriate plan, and Freediving mode keeps breath-hold sessions separate from scuba activity. One computer can therefore move between common recreational disciplines while keeping operation consistent.

Underwater, the large, high-resolution backlit display makes important dive data easy to identify. Audible and visual alarms provide more than one way to notice warnings, which is valuable when visibility, task loading or equipment noise competes for attention. Stored dive information can be reviewed afterwards, giving the diver a practical record without making log handling the centre of the product.

Donatello also uses a user-changeable battery. For travellers and occasional divers, that removes dependence on a charging schedule and makes it possible to carry a suitable spare. Battery replacement still needs to be completed carefully and in line with Cressi's instructions to protect the seal and the computer.

Donatello is often the better choice when readability, four useful modes and uncomplicated ownership matter most. Giotto suits divers who prefer three dedicated buttons and wider control over Nitrox settings, but it does not add Freediving mode. Goa provides a smaller watch-style format with a more focused three-mode setup. Neon is also watch-style and adds two-gas Nitrox capability, making it better suited to divers who expect to plan deliberate in-water gas changes.
