About This Product

The Thunderbird S40 is the mid-size aluminium option in this range, combining a 40 cu ft format with 5.7 L water capacity and a 207 bar working pressure. It is commonly compared for pony, stage and reserve-cylinder setups where the S13 is too compact and an S80 is larger than required.

The 133 mm diameter, 630 mm body height and 6.9 kg empty weight provide useful physical reference points when planning the setup. Choose No Valve for one cylinder body, or D/K Valve to include the valve with the order.

Its manufacturing story connects to the former Luxfer aluminium-cylinder operation in Graham, North Carolina, acquired by Thunderbird in 2021. The cylinder is dispatched unassembled, and an included D/K valve travels separately from the cylinder body.
