Product Overview

About This Product

The Halcyon Symbios Tank Pod adds two useful data streams to a compatible Symbios Handset or HUD: live cylinder pressure and, when enabled and calibrated, the diver's trim angle. That makes it more than a conventional pressure transmitter, particularly for sidemount, training and technical setups where balance and cylinder management matter.

It remains a system component rather than an independent instrument. The Pod needs a suitable first-stage high-pressure port, correct installation, pairing with the selected gas or pressure entry and recalibration whenever its orientation on the cylinder changes. A backup pressure gauge is also part of the installation guidance in the official manual.

Features

Key capabilities

Wireless cylinder pressure

Send pressure data to a paired compatible Symbios Handset or HUD.

Built-in trim sensor

A 3-axis accelerometer can provide real-time trim angle after the required calibration.

Sidemount and multi-cylinder use

Pair Pods to gas or independent pressure entries according to the selected Symbios computer mode.

Replaceable CR123 battery

User-replaceable lithium power avoids making the transmitter a sealed charging device.

Highlights

Product highlights

300 bar working pressure

The official manual rates the Pod for cylinder pressures up to 300 bar.

Optional pressure-only mode

Battery orientation can disable position transmission when trim data is not needed.

Calibrated position feedback

The trim function reports angle from horizontal after horizontal and vertical calibration.

Compatible Symbios pairing

Pair the Pod with a gas entry or one of the independent T1-T4 pressure positions.

Learn More

A Tank Pod purchase should start with the receiving computer, first-stage port layout and number of cylinders to monitor. The trim feature adds real value when it will be calibrated and used deliberately; otherwise the Pod can operate as a pressure transmitter only.

Product Help

Frequently asked questions

Does the Tank Pod work by itself?

No. It needs a compatible Halcyon Symbios Handset or HUD to display pressure or trim data.

What does it add besides tank pressure?

It can transmit the diver's trim angle using its built-in 3-axis accelerometer after calibration.

Where is it installed?

In a suitable 7/16-20 UNF high-pressure port on the regulator first stage. Halcyon recommends retaining a backup SPG.

Does the trim sensor need calibration?

Yes. Calibrate it after pairing and whenever the Pod's orientation relative to the cylinder changes.

Which battery does it use?

A user-replaceable CR123 lithium battery.

Can trim transmission be switched off?

Yes. The official manual explains how battery orientation enables or disables position transmission while retaining pressure transmission.
