Key capabilities

Tank pressure plus location

Adds standard air integration and records surface entry and exit coordinates.

Dive Shearwater maps

Transferred logs can show coordinates, location names and mapped dive sites.

Collision avoidance

Adaptive timing supports reliable use around multiple transmitters.

Replaceable CR2 battery

User-replaceable power provides up to 100 dive hours under the stated GNSS-use profile.

Product highlights

Surface GPS logging

Multi-constellation GNSS records the start and finish of the dive; GPS does not work underwater.

Shareable signal

Nearby compatible Shearwater computers can receive the location signal from one Swift GPS.

All-current compatibility

Works with current Shearwater air-integrated computers when firmware is up to date.

Standard Swift pressure data

Retains the pressure reporting, fitting and collision-avoidance functions of Swift.

Swift GPS records location only while it can see satellites at the surface; it does not track the underwater route. Logs must be transferred to the Dive Shearwater app to view mapped coordinates, and compatible computers require current firmware.

What's included

Swift GPS transmitter with Panasonic CR2 Industrial lithium battery. An air spool is not included.

Swift GPS makes sense for divers who genuinely value an automatic record of where a dive began and ended, particularly for travel, boats, exploration or sites without obvious landmarks. It is still a full air-integration transmitter, but the GPS feature shortens battery life compared with standard Swift and does not map the underwater route. Choose standard Swift when pressure data is the only job you need done.

Frequently asked questions

How is Swift GPS different from Swift?

Both provide wireless tank-pressure data. Swift GPS also captures surface entry and exit coordinates for mapped logs in Dive Shearwater.

Does GPS track me underwater?

No. Satellite positioning does not work underwater; the transmitter records coordinates at the surface before and after the dive.

Which app shows the mapped locations?

GPS mapping is designed for the Dive Shearwater app. The computer also needs current firmware.

Can one Swift GPS share coordinates with other divers?

Yes. Nearby compatible Shearwater computers can receive its GPS signal, so only one transmitter in a group needs to be the GPS model.

How long does the battery last?

Shearwater states up to 100 dive hours using its defined profile of one-hour dives with GNSS active before and after each dive.

Expert guidance

Will Swift GPS add useful information to your dives?

Tell our dive team how you log dives and where you normally enter the water. We can help confirm computer compatibility, firmware and whether the GPS model offers a real benefit over standard Swift.
