If the only extra information needed on a compatible Shearwater computer is cylinder pressure, standard Swift is usually the sensible transmitter. It leaves out surface location logging and concentrates on reliable pressure data. That keeps it straightforward for a conventional single-cylinder setup, while its adaptive collision-avoidance system also allows several transmitters to operate around sidemount, stage or multi-cylinder configurations with less risk of overlapping signals.

Underwater, Swift reports pressure every 4.8 to 5.2 seconds and is rated to 300 bar, with a depth limit of 200 metres. Its approximate radio range is one metre, so installation and body position still matter. Wearing the receiving computer on the transmitter side helps maintain a clear signal path, particularly when cylinders, backplates or the diver's body could shield the transmission.

The metal base fits a compatible 7/16-inch high-pressure port by hand. This reduces the temptation to over-tighten the transmitter with a tool and makes removal more practical. A hose-mounted installation needs the appropriate air spool, which is sold separately. The status LED confirms transmission and can indicate detected interference; it should not be treated as a buddy-location light.

Under its stated operating conditions, Shearwater rates the user-replaceable CR2 lithium battery for as much as 300 dive hours. The common battery format and double O-ring design support practical long-term ownership without a charging routine. Swift GPS performs the same pressure function but adds surface entry and exit coordinates for compatible computers and Dive Shearwater. That feature costs more and reduces stated battery endurance, so it makes sense only when location records add real value to travel, boat, exploration or site-documentation diving.

Swift mounts directly to a compatible 7/16-inch HP port. If it is fitted to an HP hose, the correct air spool is required and is not included. Position the transmitter on the same side as the receiving computer for the most reliable approximately one-metre RF connection.
